evilla is a place that conquers everyone’s hearts with its beauty and history.
There, in a zone called Utrera, one of the most recents promises of the gastronomic world was born, Chef Jesús Escalera.
When he was just 15, Jesús decided to start working on a pastry shop during a summer. Next year he decided to study hospitality at “Heliópolis” while still working on various restaurants of the city.
His effort and dedication took him to the kitchens of Hacienda Benazuza, a place where he discovered his devotion for gastronomy.
This young chef was never interested in bakery and desserts until he was exposed to the sweet creations of Benazuza, transforming his vision and imagining the infinite posibilities of pastry cooking.
His new interest and his undeniable talent opened him the doors to one of the most mythical kitchens in Europe, El Bulli. A place where his interest mutated into passion and his knowledge into new ideas.
